Just a quick hello and hope your weekend was wonderful! Today’s post features one of my favorite recent purchases on ASOS. Similar to the J.Crew one I wore here, this sweater also has a built-in collar which obviously makes me very happy. :) I’ve been seeing so many adorable animal graphic sweaters online lately, and I just couldn’t help but fall in love with the cute fox patch detail on this one. I was excited to be able to bring out my red coat as well to contrast the beautiful camel color of this oh-so-cozy and soft sweater!

Hello from Chi-town and happy Friday everyone! I’ve been in meetings back to back since Wednesday - I’m pretty exhausted, but it’s been a productive and informative trip. This is my first time traveling for work with my Dad. It’s been so interesting and inspirational to see the relationships my Dad has built as well as the respect he has gained over the last 40 years since starting his company. I have so much to learn still, but at least it’s from the best teacher. :)

Just wanted to do a quick post on an outfit that I wore last weekend. (I definitely wouldn’t be wearing this outfit in Chicago considering it’s 43 degrees today!) Oxblood has been on my radar for quite some time now and my collection of pieces in this color has grown quite a bit over the past few years. I think it’s the perfect shade of red, not to bright but rich and bold enough to make a statement.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

Hi everyone! As you’re reading this, I’m on my way to Chicago for a business trip so I thought it’d be fitting to do my second “Off to Work” post today! Personally, I think embellished and detachable collars are by far two of the best inventions ever. I mean, for a girl that’s constantly on the go with work and life in general, I can’t think of a better way than killing two birds with one stone.

With this sweater, not only do I save myself the time from having to choose a blouse to wear underneath the sweater, but I can skip my neck accessories all together because the jeweled collar is a statement in itself! Best part? I can easily remove the collar and add a chambray shirt underneath for a more casual and laid back look on the weekends. It’s like the gift that keeps on giving! :) So, whoever thought of those two fabulous concepts… geniusssss.

Wish me luck in much cooler temps this week in the Windy City, as this California girl is most likely going to be freezing her butt off. Off I go!

Hello! How is everyone’s weekend going? This weekend started off on a very exciting and fun note since we had an early birthday celebration for my hubby yesterday. Happy birthday Hubby! Speaking of the hubby, I do have a funny story to share about today’s outfit.

If you follow me on Instagram, you would have seen the sneak peak of my outfit a few days ago. I had mentioned that my hubby called me a manta ray as soon as he saw me in this outfit. I can’t say it’s completely out of left field since the more I look at these pictures, I can see the uncanny resemblance (see here for a picture reference!). I mean, if you HAD to compare me to an animal, I GUESS it would be a manta ray (or some kind of sea creature). :)

However, I do pose one question. Why is it that guys always seem to associate colors and clothing to animals or objects?! It’s like they have some on and off switch in their brain that triggers it when they see an outfit. For a great example, I wore a yellow coat once and he took one look and said “BIG BIRD!”. I mean… Big Bird is cute and all, but let’s just say Big Bird was not my inspiration behind the yellow coat! You can bet I didn’t let him live that one down very easily, and I’m sure he’s super excited to be learning that I’m sharing the story with you all. ;)

Anyways, just a little food for thought about the interesting and intriguing ways guys and girls break down fashion differently (disclaimer: I’m sure not ALL guys do that :)). However, I guess I’m not completely innocent in the sense that when I see someone wearing red and green, I may or may not picture a Christmas tree - but hey, at least it’s because I’m slightly obsessed with the holidays and those colors make me very, very happy!

I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend so far, and for some of you, the weekend continues tomorrow (not jealous at all)!

Just a quick hello and happy Wednesday! Wearing some bright pink in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month - pink seems to always brighten up my day and it’s a great mid-week pick me up color! These grey floral skinnies are definitely my new favorite pants. Get ready to see them on repeat in the upcoming months. I’m already thinking of layering oversized and chunky sweaters in darker hues over these fun pants for the holidays. :)
