Four Eyes: 'Sharpen Your Wits' with Warby Parker
Four Eyes: 'Sharpen Your Wits' with Warby Parker

So I have a little confession - I’m pretty much blind as a bat when it comes to my vision. I still remember the first time I realized that I needed glasses. I was in 4th grade and was seated in the back of the class, trying my VERY best effort to squint in every way possible to see the whiteboard clearly. It wasn’t too long before my teacher caught on and sent me to the nurse’s office for a much needed eye exam. The glasses were not welcomed.

When you think back at how much eyewear has had an influence on fashion, it’s pretty amazing. As with all things in the fashion world, eyewear has gone through it’s fair share of styles and trends throughout the generations but has never stopped evolving. Nowadays, everyone is finding an excuse to pick up a pair of glasses to wear as an accessory to top off their chic outfits. I am not an exception. I always have eyewear in mind when piecing together outfits before I leave the house.

With that said, I’m excited to share Warby Parker’s new limited edition Fall collection which launches today! They’re debuting five new frames with 15 options, featuring optical and sunwear glasses - all perfect for the Fall!

The new collection is a tribute to old literary favorites of the midcentury - how cool is that?

If you have never heard about Warby Parker, I really suggest you check them out here. Think of them as a hybrid of TOMS shoes and Netflix but for eyewear. Intrigued? I really admire everything the company stands for and it doesn’t hurt that they keep their products at an extremely reasonable price (starting at $95) for the same quality as other high end brands. My favorite aspect is definitely their “Buy a Pair, Give a Pair” concept.

Currently, I still rely heavily on my contact lenses on a day to day basis and through my 10+ hour work days. Over the years, I’ve really felt the (over) extended wear of my contacts affect my eyes in a negative way.

With that said, in an attempt to save my eyes from complete destruction, I decided to begin my hunt for a new pair of glasses. I would love your help in picking a new pair!

I’ve picked a few of my favorites from their new collection.

Which ones do you think I should get??

Hi Everyone!

Sorry for being a little MIA for the past week - as you know, I’m in Paris! I can’t believe I’ve already been here for 5 days - I don’t want to leave! I’m absolutely loving this city. The beauty of it is breathtaking, and I just can’t get enough of the picturesque scenery everywhere I turn! I think the Eiffel Tower is just one of those sights that you simply can’t get sick of (in my opinion).

Anyways, just wanted to do a quick post on an outfit I wore a few weekends ago. As I’ve mentioned several times before, I always look to comfort wear on the weekends since I have more restrictions in my wardrobe on the weekdays because of work. Even though I want to stay comfortable, that definitely does not mean I have to throw style out the window! :) Therefore, I love pairing solid colored tops with some floral or print pants to dress it up a bit. This top is not only super comfy because of the soft and loose fitting style, but I’m loving the mesh detailing which adds that fun flare to the outfit.

I hope you are all having a great week so far. I’m off to San Sebastian tomorrow! Can’t wait to post pics soon!

I must admit, I’m a huge fan of pleats. Give me an outfit that involves pleats, and I’ll most likely love it. Now, add some leather to the mix, it’s love at first sight. I really don’t think you can go wrong with a leather pleated skirt in a neutral color like cream or beige. It’s so easy to pair with other items, and I love that it’s thick enough to wear in the winter with some tights and a cute coat!

I’ve slowly but surely accepted the fact that summer is pretty much over by now, so I’m already getting myself in the Fall (fashion) mindset, as you can see from today’s outfit. I love neutral earthy tones for the Fall, I guess it reminds me of the changing of the leaves (not that we have much of that here in sunny California) but it sure does call for some great outfit insprations! :)

By the time you’re reading this, I’ll be in Paris! <3 Hoping for some reliable internet connection so I can post pics!

Happy Friday and have a great weekend!

P.S. - The lucky winner of my Rustic Cuff giveaway is Melissa Leva!! Send me a quick email with your contact info and we’ll get those beautiful bracelets to you! Congrats!

Not to sound like a broken record but it’s the last day to enter my giveaway here!

I’m off to Paris tomorrow, and I have SO much to do before then. I haven’t even started packing yet! I tend to be the “over-packer” when I go on trips. I’ve been trying to change that over the years but haven’t been quite so successful yet. I’m always the “what if” type of person and anxiety tends to set in right when I walk out the door. The good thing is my hubby is the complete opposite so I’m trying to rub some of his light packer/nonchalant attitude on myself, but it’s not easy! There’s so much I want to bring…yet so little space. Oh well, I guess if I forget something, I can always buy it over there, right?? :)

Please let me know if you guys have any ideas for over-packers like myself!

Talk to you guys soon! Au Revoir!
