There’s just something exhilirating about standing in the middle of Times Square and soaking up all the energy from the crowds of people walking through. And the people watching in Times Square? Priceless. (Do you spot Mickey Mouse AND Iron Man in my picture? ) Although, I probably only feel this way because I’m not a native New Yorker. Most people I talk to that live in NY seem to only grumble about the terrible traffic around Times Square and how they do as much as possible to avoid this area! :) I guess I am a true tourist in the Big Apple after all - but I don’t mind because the utmost excitement I feel every time I visit the city still hasn’t wavered!

Happy Monday everyone! I had the most amazing time in New York this past weekend. If you don’t know already, I was there for my first Lucky FABB conference (which is also my first official blogger event since starting in May!). I had so many exciting emotions going into this conference and it almost felt like the first day of school when I got off the plane. :)
Overall, I can sum up the conference in one word: inspiring. I learned so much and came away with so much valuable information. Eva Chen (Lucky Magazine’s editor-in-chief) is absolutely adorable and in my opinion, Lucky Magazine is extremely fortunate to have this talented, bright and charismatic new leader. Her vision for the future of the magazine is sharp, refreshing and unprecedented.
The best part of the conference was being able to meet some of my blogger friends in person! I loved being able to connect with other girls that have similar passions and we chatted away like old friends. I really look forward to being more involved in the blogging community because now, more than ever, I’m able to reaffirm my passion for blogging and love of fashion. Thank you, Lucky Magazine, for this incredible experience!
Hi guys! I’ve clearly been obsessed with coat weather lately and have been trying to snatch up the opportunity to wear as many of my coats as possible since the weather has been so unpredictable! However, since I was in Chicago last week, it was pretty much coat weather every day! I have to admit- I always ask for colder weather when it’s hot, yet when temps drop below the 50s – I yearn for some sunshine in those moments. (Although, my real enemy is the wind.) I guess deep down inside, I’m just a wimp when it comes to cold weather. Thinking about it now, I probably only like cold weather for its opportunity to wear cute coats and boots, hee hee. (I can see the hubby shaking his head right about now.)
Anyways, Chicago was a good time to test my cold weather endurance and surprisingly, the coats I brought to Chicago kept me quite cozy and warm when walking around the city. I’m also thankful for my fleece lined tights that I picked up at Forever21 a few years ago. If you don’t have a pair yet, do yourself a favor and go get ‘em! You will not be disappointed.
After wrapping up my meetings on Friday, I opted to stay in Chicago through the weekend to get in some relaxation and enjoy the beautiful city! The hubby flew in to join me which I was super excited about. I’ve been to Chicago a few times before, and I fall in love with the city more and more each time I visit. It has so much character, the architecture is just stunning and the people are so nice there! I always tell my hubby that if we didn’t live in LA, I would love to explore the possibility of living in Chicago. I suppose it’s a little too late for that now…. but a girl can dream! :)
One of my most favorite places to visit when I’m in Chicago is Millennium park – also home of the famous “bean” structure (actually called the Cloudgate). I don’t know if it’s because it’s big, cute and shiny, but I just l-o-v-e visiting the bean! There are always a lot of tourists there and it can get a little crowded/ claustrophobic at times, but I really don’t mind one bit. On top of it looking pretty, it’s actually a pretty amazing structure because you can see the Chicago skyline through it’s reflection. Because of the gathering of visitors from all over the world, Millennium Park always has so much energy and charisma. It’s quite charming I have to say.
Coincidentally, while we were there, a Style Chicago event was also taking place at the park. They debuted some collections from local Chicago designers and it was a fun little event that I was glad I stumbled upon. I actually scored some goodies at a booth from a local jewelry designer called K.Amato while perusing the collections. Her jewelry line is so cute! I’m looking forward to sharing some of the pieces I got in my upcoming posts.
Well guys, off I go -another flight, another city…but this time…NYC for some fun events! I feel like a bit of a jetsetter lately since I’ve been on two back to back trips in the last few weeks – it’s been quite an exciting ride for this little homebody. :) I’ll try to get a post in on Friday, but if not – I’ll talk to you guys soon!

Just a quick hello and hope your weekend was wonderful! Today’s post features one of my favorite recent purchases on ASOS. Similar to the J.Crew one I wore here, this sweater also has a built-in collar which obviously makes me very happy. :) I’ve been seeing so many adorable animal graphic sweaters online lately, and I just couldn’t help but fall in love with the cute fox patch detail on this one. I was excited to be able to bring out my red coat as well to contrast the beautiful camel color of this oh-so-cozy and soft sweater!

Hello from Chi-town and happy Friday everyone! I’ve been in meetings back to back since Wednesday - I’m pretty exhausted, but it’s been a productive and informative trip. This is my first time traveling for work with my Dad. It’s been so interesting and inspirational to see the relationships my Dad has built as well as the respect he has gained over the last 40 years since starting his company. I have so much to learn still, but at least it’s from the best teacher. :)
Just wanted to do a quick post on an outfit that I wore last weekend. (I definitely wouldn’t be wearing this outfit in Chicago considering it’s 43 degrees today!) Oxblood has been on my radar for quite some time now and my collection of pieces in this color has grown quite a bit over the past few years. I think it’s the perfect shade of red, not to bright but rich and bold enough to make a statement.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone!
